Slumdog Millionaire (2008)

A funny and original story about brothers, who after losing their mother, have to go through the tough life growing up in India, and of course a love story. The movie won 8 Oscars including best picture, don’t get me wrong here, the film is good, but the actors are not, so in some parts you wish the characters would show more emotions, but most of the people in this movie, never acted before. The writing is nice, and some moments are hard to watch, you just feel sorry for the boys (especially the blind one). Directed by the great Danny Boyle, with help of Loveleen Tandan, who show a beautiful but also the real (dangerous) Mumbai.

A Mumbai teen who grew up in the slums, becomes a contestant on the Indian version of “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?” He is arrested under suspicion of cheating, and while being interrogated, events from his life history are shown which explain why he knows the answers.
