Frida (2002)
A biography of artist Frida Kahlo, who channeled the pain of a crippling injury and her tempestuous marriage into her work. Director Julie Taymor was able to make a movie that is touching, informative, beautiful, and surrealistic like Frida Kahlos pictures. Starring Salma Hayek, who is stunning as Kahlo and deserved her Oscar nomination, and Alfred Molina as Rivera, who was convincing and almost unrecognizable.
“Frida” chronicles the life Frida Kahlo shared unflinchingly and openly with Diego Rivera, as the young couple took the art world by storm. From her complex and enduring relationship with her mentor and husband to her illicit and controversial affair with Leon Trotsky, to her provocative and romantic entanglements with women, Frida Kahlo lived a bold and uncompromising life as a political, artistic, and sexual revolutionary. Julie Taymor was able to make a movie that is touching, informative and beautiful, and surrealistic like Frida Kahlos pictures. (Won 2 Oscars)

A story about two friends, a priest and a rabbi, who fall in love with the same girl. Starring Ben Stiller, Edward Norton and Jenna Elfman - the supporting actors are big names and just as good. The story is funny, fresh and very well written, plus Norton made his debut as a director.
Plot:
Best friends, a priest and a rabbi, fall in love with the same girl, which they know from childhood days. However, neither of the men can pursue the relationship due to their religious beliefs: the priest cannot break his vow of celibacy and the rabbi cannot marry her since she is not Jewish.

The People vs. Larry Flynt (1996)
A partially idealized film of the true, controversial pornography publisher and how he became a defender of free speech for all people. Directed by Milos Forman (who was nominated for an Oscar-best director) Woody Harrelson (who is nothing but great, and was also nominated of an Oscar), Courtney Love, Edward Norton…superb biographical account of smut publisher Larry Flynt and the uncomparable love affair with his doomed yet dedicated, bisexual, drug-addicted and tragically AIDS afflicted wife Althea Leasure (Love).
Plot:
Larry Flynt is the hedonistically obnoxious, but indomitable, publisher of Hustler magazine. The film recounts his struggle to make an honest living publishing his girlie magazine and how it changes into a battle to protect the freedom of speech for all people.
